Ch. 7 (Ava Adore)
-Nate and Jake brought two girls back to the apartment: Jessica and Jamie.
-Jake found out that Jamie is also a SciFi fan, and "Strangetown" is one of her favorite movies.
-Jamie punched him on the arm for making a blonde joke. She even beat him in "Knockout".
-Nate and Jessica didn't waste any time getting down and dirty in his room.
-At one point, they were so loud that Jake had to drive Jamie home.
-During the drive, Jake also learned that Jamie works in advertising.
-When they pulled up to her house, she gave him her number. In case he wants to "hang out again sometime".

"So how was the trip?" Nate asks as he intently watches the football leave Luke's hands. With legs slightly bent, he opens his palms just enough to form a half-circle, but less than a foot apart to close in on the ball when it reaches him. His older brother can throw a mean spiral. Luke gets this rage in his eyes when he throws a football, like he wants to hurt someone. It's almost as if he has a sharp-shooter's aim, narrowing down on his target until he captures the perfect spot, then fires. If Luke had been a pitcher in high school instead of a quarterback, his throws could have easily averaged 90 miles per hour.
"It was good." Luke proudly smiles as he watches the football take off like a torpedo, spinning perfectly, but heading towards Nate's chest. Before his blue-eyed brother even has a chance to catch it, a loud pop can be heard as he staggers back a few feet.
"OW!! Dude, what the hell??" Nate hisses between his teeth as he hunches over with one hand clutching his chest.
"Sorry, bro! You alright?" Luke grimaces as he watches Nate try to brush off the pain. He didn't mean to hit him in the chest. It appears that the ball was much quicker than Nate's reflexes.
"Yeah, I'm...damn, Luke! That shit hurts!" Nate picks up the ball, chases Luke, then throws it at him. It hits Luke dead square in the crotch. "Ooops..."
"Mommy..." Luke's eyes widen in shock as he grabs his nuts with both hands and collapses on the ground. The last time he felt this type of pain was when a girl kicked him in the berries his senior year. She thought he grabbed her ass when she walked by, but it was actually Nate. He's had nightmares about it since. Sometimes he would wake up in the middle of the night, screaming, thinking his boxers are soaked in blood.
"Oh man, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to---" Nate rushes by his side.
"My boys...my...boys..." Luke mumbles as he curls up in a fetal position with his hands protectively cupping his crotch. Not even the prickly sensation of grass poking his face or the red ants crawling up his leg can distract him from this trauma.
"Let me see---"
"Don't touch it!" Luke frees one hand to swat Nate away.
"How my thoughts
They spin me 'round
And how my thoughts
They let me down
And how my thoughts
They spin me 'round
And how my thoughts
They let me down"
Jake must have stared at the business card in his hand for five minutes, trying to figure out if he should call or not. He just dropped Jamie off at her house this morning, but the thought of waiting a few more days to hear her voice again seems like such a long wait. He wants to listen to his brothers. After all, they're older than him and they have more experience with women. Even with all of the commotion going on a few feet away, he can't look away from the seven digits staring him in the face. Alright Jake, you can do this. Piece of cake.
Hearing the beep bop boop sound as he presses the number keys is like a punch to the gut, robbing his ability to breathe. He wants to hang up, but his finger already pressed "call". Ring....
Every cell in his body is on full alert after the first ring. Will she answer? Ring...What will he say?
Ring...
He wants to die, but his soul will probably continue to chase his mind after it has deserted his cold body.
"Hello?" She finally answers. There's a softness in her voice. It almost has a sweet quality to it, with a hint of shyness that he never detected in person.
"Hi, Jamie?" He clears his throat, trying to make his voice sound even smoother.
"Speaking. Who is this?"
"It's Jake."
"Who?"
"Um...Jake. I dropped you off this morning."
"What are you talking about?"
"You don't remember? You were at my place last night. We hung out."
"Umm...I don't know how you got my number, but I don't know you."
So she wants to play games, huh?
"Wow, you must have been really drunk. Cuz I remember everything. We went at it for hours, you were screaming my name, you were like...Jake! Oh, Jake!"
".................."
"Hello?"
"You are such a liar!"
"Uh huh...now you remember me."
"Anyways, what are you up to?"
"I'm at the park with my brothers. What about you?"
"I'm at work and I'm seriously about to collapse from lack of sleep. It's all your fault."
"Yeah, I know. You couldn't get enough of this."
"Shut up!"
"Haha."
"What do you guys want?" Jake asks as he savors the potent aroma of onions, garlic and spices emanating from the food truck, lingering in the air. Even though he just had a ham and cheese sandwich a few hours ago, he can feel his stomach begging for a taste of whatever's sizzling on the hot grill. A burger patty? Steak? Chicken? The possibilities are endless.
"Let me have the steak burrito and a Coke." Luke is not a big fan of onions or cillantro, but he makes sure they load up on the beans. Even though it makes him gassy. And he lets his brothers know it.
"Aw, man. Not the burrito!" Jake shakes his head in fear.
"That's right. Extra beans too!"
"Great." Nate rolls his eyes at Luke. "Hey Jake, let me have two Chicago dogs and a lemonade."
"You know what? Just for that eyeroll, I'm sitting next to you." Luke wiggles his eyebrows, grinning at Nate.
"So how's Lyn doing?" Jake asks as he blows on a spoonful of chunky clam chowder before it reaches his mouth.
"She's doing good. She bought a house in Appaloosa and she seems to like it there. It's really peaceful." Luke watches the steam emerge from the bowl like creepy little fingers.
"That's good." Jake briefly looks away, avoiding eye contact with Luke. Nate continues to quietly munch on his hot dog. He avoids Luke's gaze as well.
The silence is overwhelming. Seconds are taking forever to pass.
"What's going on?" Luke looks at both of them suspiciously. It's not normal for his brothers to be this quiet or evasive. Either they did something or they know something. Either way, he's going to find out.
"We know." Jake murmurs as he looks down at his half-eaten bowl of chowder. Nate nearly chokes on his hot dog. Usually they give each other a heads up when they're about to spill, but Jake didn't even have time to do that. It just came out.
"Know what?"
"We know what happened with Lyn and Brad. Mom kind of made us---"
"Mom? She knows too??"
"Yeah. And Dad." Nate adds, then quickly looks back down at his hot dog.
"Are you two for real?? I shouldn't have said anything. I knew this was going to happen!"
"Well, it's not like Lyn and Brad are still together. I think it's good that we know. Now you can be with Lyn. Isn't that what you always wanted?" Jake looks at Luke cautiously, trying not to fuel his anger even more.
"I'm not worried about that. I just don't want Mom to think that Lyn's another one of Brad's skanks. She's nothing like them. She's..."
"I know, bro. Look, we never met Lyn and we already know she's a great girl. Just from the way you talk about her. Mom will love her too. Probably even more than---" Nate catches himself, but it's too late. Her name lingers around them like an invisible wasp that they can't see, but they can hear, buzzing close by.
"Nate, shut up!" Jake throws him an evil look, wondering how his brother can make things even worse. Natalie's name is like a curse. It must never be spoken around Luke or it will bring back all kinds of negative energy from the past.
Luke simply stares off into the distance, mindlessly watching people pass by. Natalie. The woman he loved for two years. The woman he was going to spend the rest of his life with. The woman who fell from heaven with her sparkling gray eyes and long, strawberry blonde hair. The woman who happened to screw Brad just when he was thinking about proposing. He hasn't seen her since they broke up four years ago. He has fantasized about what he would do if he ran into her. Would he scream profanities at her? Would he pretend she doesn't exist? Or would he find himself in a moment of weakness...and fall for her charms?
"Yeah, so Jake met a girl last night." Nate tries to break the awkward silence with this revelation.
"Oh yeah? Is she hot?" Luke snaps out of his trance and shifts his gaze towards Jake.
"Yeah. Her name is Jaaaaamie." Nate adds, looking at Jake the whole time.
"Nate banged Jessica last night!" Jake retaliates, pursing his lips.
"Dude!!" Luke turns to Nate in awe with a sly grin.
"Yeah, that's right, bitches! I got some. Did ya'll?" Nate opens his arms out and twists his neck, challenging his brothers.
"Mad props, bro. Mad props." Luke and Jake give him the congratulatory fist bump.

Joseph noticed some peculiar similarities about the series of fires that have been going on in the past few months. The last fire in particular (Nate's first dispatch) started in the lobby of an apartment complex. Usually fires start in kitchens, bathrooms or any outdoor area with a grill, where people forget to turn off an appliance or they have too many plugs in one outlet. In the case of faulty wiring, it can usually be traced to hot spots like outlets, improperly secured lines or damage (chewed by rodents, humidity).
For the most part, accidental causes of fire start inside the house or building due to human negligence or ignorance. When this has been ruled out during an investigation, suspicions start to brew. But the fire department must act quickly when they receive leads since arson is easy to accomplish but challenging to prove. The evidence is usually destroyed by the time the property is safe enough to explore.
This property used to be a warehouse based on existing records. It's not clear what the contents were since everything has been destroyed. During the fire, there were no vehicles in the parking lot. It was not a weekend. The department couldn't locate anybody on the premises as they entered the building, which probably meant that it was empty. The question is, how long has the building been vacant? The likelihood of an empty building running into self-casualties is very slim. Fires are usually caused by humans. But what would motivate someone to burn down an empty building? It's not exactly a run-down crackhouse since the structure was in good condition while it was intact. The lot was still maintained as well, along with a "no trespassing" sign and efficient locks.
Like the apartment lobby, Marley can't find any evidence of faulty wiring, burnt outlets, gas leaks or machine negligence. But somehow, the floor and interior/exterior walls have been charred at least half an inch. For an empty building, the chance of this type of damage and the uniformity of it (accidental fires usually spread in whatever direction is driest or contains the most flammable materials, so the char pattern looks random) is unlikely. The middle of a room can be charred but the corners are intact or the only half of the room has been damaged.
"Marley, did you double check the reports? Are you sure there weren't any internal causes?" Joseph asks as he checks the sides of the foundation for anything unusual.
"Sure did. I even checked the whole floor for faulty wiring or machine malfunction. Everything checked out okay, even the outlets." Marley shrugs as he looks over at Joseph.
"I don't know. Something's not right. Fires don't start themselves unless it's a freak of nature or somebody caused it. The question is, was it an accident?"
"Joe, I think the question is...why would someone do it on purpose?"
After another hour of examining the exterior, Joe stumbles into an object that makes him stop dead in his tracks.
"Marley, come here!" He digs through a charred pile of debris.
"What is it?" Marley kneels down to see what the fuss is about.
"See this?" Joe pulls out an object that resembles a burnt rock. But it's very light. "What does it look like to you?"
"A rock."
"Look again." Joe presses both thumbs into the object while the rest of his fingers pull it apart until it breaks. The center of the object has retained its white color and semi-crumbly texture.
"It's a foam." Marley whispers in surprise, holding it in his hand.
"Arsonists use foam to soak up accelerants like kerosine, gas, paint thinners. Anything that has hydrocarbon to speed up combustion. A foam the size of a shoebox with a gallon of accelerant can spread to the whole room in minutes. And if done at night like most arsons are, the whole building is too dangerous to enter by the time we get there. So if you put one in each room and a couple outside, you got the perfect fire."
"So why didn't this one burn completely?"
"Maybe it was the last one that was placed. Or they had to get out. The thing is, most people look for matches or a plastic gasoline container when they think arson. People don't think foam."
The new discovery left Joseph and Marley stewing in their own thoughts during the drive back to the firestation. This is the first real evidence of arson that they have since the preliminary investigation began three months ago. Still, finding evidence is not the hard part. With enough time and resources, they will be able to gather enough supporting materials to open an official arson case. The hard part is finding the lead to the actual perpetrators. With crucial factors like hair samples, fingerprints, identification, witnesses and catching someone in the act, things become even more tricky and dangerous.
When arsonists suspect that their cover is being blown, they tend to go after the person they perceive as a threat. In a lot of cases, the investigators themselves become the next arson victims, losing not just their homes but their loved ones as well.

Not too long after Luke gets out of the shower, his cellphone rings. Lyn. His heart races at the thought that it could be her. When he sees her name on the caller I.D., a massive grin takes over his face, like a schoolboy that just got a call from his high school crush. He tries to control the butterflies flapping around his stomach by taking a deep breath. Why am I nervous? I just talked to her the other night!
"Hey, you." He whispers, trying to hide his Kool-Aid smile.
"Hi, Luke." Her voice is soft and silky with just the right amount of husky that could easily be mistaken for one of those 1-800-HOT-LOVE numbers.
"How was your day?"
"Good. I haven't heard from the school yet. Do you think they'll call?"
"They will. It usually takes a week or so especially for an important job. Just be patient."
"Thanks. It's just so nervewracking, you know? The wait."
"I know."
"And then there's you
Then there's you
And then there's you
Then there's you"
"What about you?" She asks.
"It was pretty good. Oh man, I forgot to tell you! I got hit in the balls."
"What?? Who hit you in the balls?"
"Nate. I was throwing a football and it hit him in the chest."
"Awww, poor baby. So he hit you in the balls?"
"No. He chased me around and threw the football right in my---"
"Ouch!! Are umm...they okay?"
"Yeah. They're still kind of sore though."
"Umm...how did we end up talking about your balls again?" Her voice becomes even more velvety. He swears he can feel her grin and crimson cheeks penetrating through the phone.
"Haha. Sorry."
"So what are you doing right now?" Her lips seem like they are only inches away from his. He can almost reach out and touch her.
"I'm lying in bed...talking to you. What about you?"
"Same."
"Don't get mad, okay?"
"What? What happened?"
"It's nothing like that...it's just...you sound really sexy on the phone."
"Oh. I...umm...thank you. You too."
"Really?"
"Yeah..."
"So...what are you wearing?"
"Luke!"
"Sorry."
"Well...if you must know...I'm in my underwear."
"Oh yeah? What color?"
"Red."
"Nice."
"What about you?"
"Oh, just my boxer briefs."
"What color?"
"Black."
"Ooooh..."
"Make that sound again."
"Lucas!"
"Sorry..."

God, Luke so needs to high tail it to Lyn!
ReplyDeleteJake and Jamie could be an interesting pair, poor guy is so nervous though, heh.
Now i'm very curious as to to the person/persons responsible for the arsons are, wondering if it's someone they know, will have to wait and see!
can't wait for more....edenz~
ps more Luke and Lyn please!~=b
LOL I know, right? The distance isn't helping either. It seems like it's making things worse. Luke is saying things he normally wouldn't say in person.
DeleteJake was definitely nervous but it turned out to be for nothing. She's just as playful with him on the phone, not just in person. This is going to be an interesting match.
Things will be unraveled about the series of arsons, and the crew will have to be more careful than usual so they don't blow any leads.
That's funny because I thought you guys were getting sick of seeing four chapters of Luke and Lyn in Memoirs. Let me see what I can do. :-)
Thanks for reading, Edenz!
I really don't even know what to say. Really good chapter, as always, the convo between Jake and Jamie was cute and the phone call with Luke and Lyn at the end was awesome, and so funny. Can't wait much longer, they need to get together. Mess up her "diet" ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed this chapter! There's definitely something between Jake and Jamie. The way she got quiet when he teased her was very telling. lol She was probably imagining it herself.
DeleteLuke and Lyn, on the other hand...Oh, lord. I swear, these two are probably going to end up having phone sex if they don't filter out their thoughts. You know you're becoming good friends when you can talk about "balls". xD
Haha man, when Luke messes up her "diet", I'm afraid. I'm very afraid. She probably won't be able to walk for days. ;-)
Thanks for reading and for the kind words, AddyKat!
Nate needs to get better aim! He can't be damaging Luke in such a way.
ReplyDeleteI like the interactions between the brothers. They are so close you can tell and it's fun to watch. Jake was so cute calling Jamie. Their phone call was funny. They are both jokers and so far seem like a good fit for each other. I hope things don't go wrong for them. (KEEP THE BACKSTABBING BIMBO AWAY!)
They are dealing with an arsonist. That is bad news. I hope they can catch the person before someone dies.
Almost naked Luke. YUMMY....The almost phone sex awesome :)
HAHA Nate didn't know that it was an accident, so he definitely hit him where it hurts. Literally.
DeleteThe Rossi boys are definitely a close-knit group, and they pretty much tell each other everything. But they can also get competitive and rowdy. Boys will be boys, right? I agree, Jake seems to mesh well with Jamie's personality and they seem to "get" each other. She thought she was playing him but he flipped the script on her real quick. lol Beware. Beware of the backstbbing bimbo. She can be lurking at any corner. ;-)
Arsonists definitely make it difficult for the fire department to do their job since most of the evidence is destroyed by the time they investigate the property. They will need to be one step ahead.
YES, AlmostNakedLuke, just for you! I had you in mind when I wrote this chapter. :-)
Thanks for reading, Mica!
Lol! I love the phone conversations between Luke and Lyn! Yaaaaaay! I'm so happy Luke is back, he's been gone for far too long!:)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe Nate threw the ball into Luke's boys! Poor Luke!
I like the banter the boys, they seem very close.
I hope Joseph and Marley can catch the arsonist without anyone getting hurt!
Great chapter! I really enjoyed this one:)
LOL I know, Luke and Lyn's conversations are definitely treading outside of the platonic range. You would think the distance would cool things off between them but it's actually making things worse. Maybe they should only talk in the daytime. ;-)
DeleteYes, Luke is back! Only to get his balls hit. Haha. He was gone for four chapters, it's definitely not the same without him. I always have fun writing a chapter when they're all together because of their antics. It seems like they still act like kids, but they are very close. The good news is that Joseph and Marley found tangible evidence of arson, so they have something to work with.
Thank you for reading and for the kind words, Claireybear!
Loved the two new chapters! Okay, here are my predictions: The guy on the couch that Brad visited is his dad and his dad is the arsonist. And Luke is going to find out about Naveah soon and everything is going to hit the fan.
ReplyDeleteOooooh, I like your predictions! And your theory about Brad's dad being the arsonist is really interesting. Haha somethings definitely about to hit the fan. Stay tuned!
DeleteThanks for reading, Kristine!
Noooo!!! Why did it have to stop there. Drat. Double drat. &*$@!
ReplyDeleteI downloaded Brad, Lyn, and Luke, but every time I start Lyn up the game crashes. Not to mention that blasted error code 12 ruining everything. Once my story is "done" to the point that I'm working towards, I'm going to have to delete my saves. I hope I can keep the main characters. I still wish I could cast at least the guys as 'extras' cuz I think that's neat. I stink at making sims look like I want them to look. Elena was luck.
Good chapter. I agree with kmsim15. Good thinking. Brad's dad could very well be the arsonist, but what's the motive?
LOL sorry. I had to stop it there because the conversation was getting long. That won't be the end of it though. :-) You guys have some interesting predictions about Brad's dad being involved in the arsons. Stay tuned!
DeleteThat's awesome that you downloaded them! Hmmm...that's weird that she's causing your game to crash. I don't use CC on any of my sims, just store content. At least Brad and Luke worked out okay. Deleting your saves will probably help with some of those error messages. If you upload your main characters in your studio, they'll always be available. I think Elena came out beutiful and John is handsome as well. I love his quiet, intellectual look.
Thanks for reading, Mypal!
That conversation between Lyn and Luke lol brought back memories, my relationship was on the phone for about 2 months and it was a killer as it drove me nuts but almost 14 years later we are still together.
ReplyDeleteIt would will be nice to see Jake and Jamie continue this romance. Nate and Jessica umm I don't know.
Great update :)
Wow, Lckygirl congrats on 14 years! Obviously, that 2 month distance was worth enduring since it paved the way to a long and happy relationship. Gah, I remember those late night phone calls all well.
DeleteHubby and I used to talk on the phone for hours when we first started dating. At one point he had to upgrade his long distance plan since we lived 40 miles away from each other and we talked every night. I remember when we would talk from 9 p.m. til 8 a.m. and I still didn't want to get off the phone. lol So he'd have an extra phone ready when the batteries ran out on the first one.
Jake and Jamie definitely have potential, and it's just a matter of time before they want to spend more time together. Nate and Jessica, that could go either way. xD
Thanks for reading!
I feel for Luke. Jake though I don't know about. Nice ending to the Chapter. I just love this story. More when you can.
ReplyDeleteI know, poor Luke. I hope Nate didn't cause any permanent damage. It would be a shame if he goes "out of order" by the time he and Lyn hook up. lol Jake likes Jamie but he doesn't want to show it. so that's why he's acting like that.
DeleteI'm glad you enjoyed the ending! Luke and Lyn's phone conversations have the potential to become even more "steamy" if they don't find a way to release all that tension.
Thanks for reading and for the kind words, Rated PG!

ReplyDeleteMessed up the first time! LOL
DeleteI know it's not nice to laugh, but I died laughing when Nate hit Luke in the balls. Especially when Luke yelled Mommy!
I like how Jamie pretended not to know Jake when he called. That was so cute.
Luke's thoughts about how he would react if his old fiance shows up seems to mean that he still has unresolved feelings for her. I wonder what effect her coming back on the scene would have on his relationship with Lyn.
That phone call between Luke and Lyn makes me think that she might be ready for more than friendship now! I know he is!
That comment about the arsonist going after the investigators and their loved ones worries me!
So good like always, Tommie!
HAHA it's okay to laugh. After all, it's fiction, right? Now if this happened to someone in real life that you know, that would be a different story. But still, I don't know why it's funny when I hear that someone got kicked in the balls and they drop to the ground grabbing their goods. lol
DeleteYou may be right, Luke may still have unresolved feelings for Natalie. After all, this comes from a deep place since it involved his best friend and the girl he loved. Brad owned up to what he did, tha's why he and Luke remained friends. With Natalie, he was too hurt to even consider facing her again. He avoided all of her phone calls and attempts at catching him in person. So he never had that closure, nor did he really deal with it.
It will be interesting to see his reaction if she comes back into his life again.
I think Luke feels more comfortable saying those things on the phone because there's no possibility of acting them out in person. But he needs to be careful and not cross the line either since Lyn just got out of a relationship.
With the arsonist, stay tuned!
Thanks for reading, Daisies!
Hey! You cut us off in the middle of hot phone sex! Put it back! Put it back!
ReplyDeleteWell, all the brothers put their romantic cards on the table, and everyone seems to be OK with Jessica being back in the picture, as well as Lyn. I'm so glad he called Jamie & didn't wait! For a minute, I thought she gave him a fake number!
Joe - looks like he's on to a pretty dangerous trail!
LOL! Sorry, there will be more of it next time. ;-)
DeleteThe brothers are pretty supportive of each other and they try not to get judgemental over their love choices. I'm more concerned about how Sarah will handle all this. Not only does she not like Jessica but Lyn could be another woman that she won't approve of. Luke will have to approach this subject carefully. Hehe Jamie pulled stunt on Jake but he got the upper hand in the end.
Yes, Joe is definitely treading dangerous territory. He'll have to be bery careful and not gain any enemies.
Thanks for reading, Jilly!
I really love this story. You have very great writing.
ReplyDeleteHi Bria, welcome to my blog and thank you for checking out my story! I'm glad you're enjoying it so far. Your kind words just made me smile, I really do try to make the updates worth my readers' time. :-)
DeleteThank you for reading!
sooo lukes home, the brothers spill the beans, abt everyone knowing about lyn. Arson, now thats a twist i did not expect. Hopefully the family will be ok, since arsonists, don't like getting caught, and hate being found out. Ya i figure the guy on the couch is Brads dad.
ReplyDeleteLuke gets a bit permiscuious on the phone. lol. Sometimes that happens alot, when not in person, they seem to let loose a bit.
I hope those two get together permanently. But now i am worried about the family of lukes. Arson, bad. Brad at his dads. Curiosity, why did he go to his dads, if his dad, was so mean long ago? makes me wonder, if the boy is coming unglued at the seams. Thanks for the email, can't wait for more. You have entertwined the stories so well.
Dealing with arsonists is definitely dangerous territory. These are a group of individuals who have strong motives, whether it's personal or financial. Arson is also a very serious charge, especially if death, injury and massive property damage is involved.
DeleteHAHA yeah, Luke's freaky side is coming. I think they need to start talking in the daytime because their night conversations are going downhill. lol
Brad went to go check on his dad after not seeing him for six months, knowing he's an alcoholic. Plus he has nowhere else to go since he lost Lyn and Luke. I'm glad to know that the stories are overlapping successfully.
Thanks for reading, Jerry!
NOOOOOO! You cut it off right before they got to the good part! They were totally gonna have some hot kinky phone sex, I just know it!
ReplyDeleteUm, also: "A burger patty? Steak? Chicken? The possibilities are endless." Oh boy, Jake is my soul mate. All those choices are so delicious -- how do you choose!? Oh, I know. I pick Jake!
As much as I love getting a really in depth view of the characters in Memoirs, I love how the 3rd person view in this story allows you to have several story lines in each chapter. Seriously, it makes it so hard to pick a favorite part. Jake calling Jamie was just precious; I loved how he flirted with her on the phone. And the moments between the three brothers -- the way they know each other so well, and their bonding over girls. And of course, the almost-phone sex scene. Mmmm.
Oooh, and is there an arsonist on the loose? The science behind fires is pretty fascinating; Joe seems to really know his stuff. Even though the investigation is still preliminary, I don't like that bit about the arsonist potentially going after Joe and his family. Luke and Jake are in that family. What will I -- I mean, what will Lyn -- do if Luke gets hurt?!
Great update :)
Meghan!! Sorry for the late reply, I just got back into my stories again. Hope you are doing well, and will be coming back soon to post an update for Lost. Hahahaha sorry, I had to cut it off there, it was getting too long. But I thought I'd give you guys a sneak peak of what's to come :P Bahaha hot kinky phone sex! DAYUM!! Okay, if you say so! I'll just say it was all your fault in the next chapter. Gurrrl, you aint seen nothin yet! lol
DeleteAwwww, Jake is your soulmate? Well, he IS waiting for "the one", the girl next door he can bring home to mom. You could be it girly! :D I agree, Memoirs allows us to get an intimate peek of the characters thoughts and emotions, how they see the world, but its limited to one person. With 3rd person, several story lines can be covered, so it does give a wider range of characters and situations. Hehe Jake definitely got the upper had in the end, even though Jamie tried to throw him off. I love the banter between the bros, they are so close and so comfy with each other. Haha almost-phone sex. Look at you! :P
Yup there's an arsonist on the loose. I had to do some research about arson and what causes it, and it was pretty interesting. Joe is definitely on to something with the foam. He will have to be careful and not step on the wrong toes, because they can end up as targets. Haha what will you do if Luke gets hurt? Awwwww!! You will run to him and cradle him in your arms while you call for help. That's what you will do :D
Thanks for reading, Meghan!
Did this site die?
ReplyDeleteNo, it's alive and kickin :D
Delete~ I hope not!
ReplyDeleteLol Karima!
DeleteI just wanted to let you guys know that I haven't given up on this story. RL has been crazy, and it has not allowed me the time to write the way I want. Now that summer vacation is here, I can finally work on my stories! Ch. 9 is loooong overdue. I will be working on it next week and hoping to release it soon.
ReplyDeleteI apologize for the lack of updates, but so touched by your recent comments, and for not giving up on me. I miss writing, and I miss you guys!
Yayyy, thank you for replying! Don't rush anything, I'm just glad you're ok. I was getting worried.
