"So what's the score?" Jake asks after arriving with Nate, planting his bottom on the couch.  He, along with his dad and older brother, just finished their three-day duty at the firestation, so they won't need to return until Tuesday.  Nate is officially a new member of the crew, having completed his last week of training.

"14-nothing.  It's still second quarter though." Joseph tries to sound hopeful for the Llamas, who have been the family's favorite football team since the boys were little.  Growing up as an only child, he always looked forward to watching the games with his own father.  Henry Rossi may have been strict and undemonstrative at times, but he shared a piece of himself---through his avid support and analysis of the Llamas.

Photobucket

"But the Cowdevils are the number one seed this year.  They only lost one game so far." Jake cringes as the Cowdevils make another first down, moving them to the Llama 30 yard line.

"They haven't really played any hard teams yet.  Wait til they go against  the Stallions.  Their quarterback this year's really good."  Even though he sees his sons everyday at work, there's something about having them home that warms his aging heart.  His boys are all grown up, but he still thinks of them as the "tazmanian devils" who wreaked havoc to his house for over twenty years.  From tracks of brown dirt on the newly waxed floor, a football hitting an antique vase, grape juice spilling on the new suede couch to the aroma of sweaty socks emanating from their filthy rooms, he and Sarah had to learn to pick their battles---along with an enormous amount of patience.  Not to mention their competitiveness, cries for attention and endless energy.  Thank God for sports.  Luke became starting quarterback his sophomore year, Nate broke the school record for most hits with the baseball team and Jake led the soccer team with the most goals his freshman year.

Photobucket

"Oh, come on! Are you kidding me??" Nate throws his hands up in disgust as he watches the ball slip out of the Llama running back's hand.  Now the Cowdevils have possession at the 20 yard line.

"Did you see how he was holding the ball?? Dude, you're supposed to tuck it in!" Jake shakes his head in frustration.

Photobucket

"Yeah, you would know about that huh, Chilly Willy?" A sheepish grin forms on Nate's face as he narrows his eyes at Jake.

"You're sick, bro." Jake gives him a nasty glare.  Nate hasn't called him that in years.  That used to be his favorite penguin growing up until Nate told him the other meaning of "chilly willy".

"I'm Chilly Willy the penguin.  I shake til I'm blue---
" Nate wiggles his eyesbrows as he starts singing the cartoon's theme song.

"Dad, your son's a perv." Jake quickly interrupts.  Sometimes he wonders how his brother can make everything so dirty.

"Nate, what's wrong with you?"

"Whaaat? I'm just singing. He's the one that tucks it."

"Jake, stop tucking it.  This ain't 'Silence Of The Lambs'".

"Shut up asspowder, I do not tuck it."

"Dad, he just called me an asspowder." Nate pokes Joseph on the arm, then turns to Jake. "Chilly Willy."

"Alright, both of you need to stop or I'm telling the girls at the station that  you both have little chilly willies. And I mean tiny." Joseph spells out every word in a deep, deliberate voice.

Nate and Jake's eyes widen in shock as they watch each other closely. Silence takes over the living room.

"Now can we get back to the game?" Their father lets out a deep sigh as he returns his gaze to the t.v.

"Yes, sir." His sons mumble in unison as they sit up straight.

Photobucket

"Oooh, what are you making, mom?" Jake's eyes sparkle at the sight of Sarah preparing dinner.  He's always been fascinated by her ability to transform ordinary items like grains, meats and vegetables into something that wakes up his senses.  From the smell of onions and garlic sauteeing  in butter, watching the cheese melt on top of the lasagna to the way rice magically turns into the color of the sun with a pinch of saffron.  But none of this compares to how they taste in his mouth, the way the flavors burst before they dance in comforting symphony, as if she left a piece of her heart with every bite.  They say that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, but Sarah's cooking has captured Jake's heart since he learned to say "mommy".

"Hi, sweetheart! I'm making spaghetti. Your favorite." She flashes him a warm smile as she peels a medium-sized white onion.  After working nearly fifteen years as a bookkeeper, she found herself becoming disenchanted with the corporate life .  It wasn't until the boys moved out that she finally found the courage to pursue her true passion: cooking.  With Joseph's support, she recently quit her job to attend culinary school.

"Yes!! Do you need any help?"

"Umm...yes.  Can you make the salad?"

"Sure, mom."

"Thanks, babe."

Photobucket

"So how was your first week?" She places the crushed tomatoes in a plastic bowl, stirring in fresh chopped basil.

"It was pretty good.  We had to put out a house fire and dad finally let me drive the firetruck."  After slicing the cucumber, tomatoes, onion, yellow bell pepper and mushrooms, he drizzles extra virgin olive oil to keep them from drying out.

"Which one, Big Bertha or Gertrude?"

"Gertrude.  Luke drove Big Bertha."

"Ahhh.  The other women in your father's life."

"Haha. I swear, dad would probably install an alarm on them if he could."

"One thing about your dad, he loves what he does.  Have you ever watched him when he talks about his day? His eyes just light up."

"I know.  Now I understand."

"Oh, Jakey! You caught your father's bug!"

"Aww, mom! Do you still have to call me that?"

"I can't help it.  You're always gonna be my little Jakey Wakey."

Photobucket

"Mmm...smells good." Joseph wraps his arms around his wife as he lightly nibbles on her jaw, causing her to gasp in surprise.

"Joe, you almost made me drop my spatula!" She whispers as a naughty smile forms on her lips.  Even after all these years, he still has the ability to take her breath away.

"Sorry.  You just look so sexy when you cook." His voice becomes more husky as his mouth travels down her neck.

"Oh, Joe..." A  soft giggle escapes her mouth as she bites her lower lip, loving the way his hands are traveling down to her hips.

"I can't remember when

You weren't there
When I didn't care

For anyone but you
I swear, we've been through

Everything there is
Can't imagine anything

We've missed
Can't imagine anything
The two of us can't do"

Photobucket

"Come on, dad, I'm right here!" Jake tries to focus on mixing the salad instead of his parents getting frisky in front of him.

"Jake, you can learn a thing or two."

"From watching you grope mom?"

"Yes.  Unless you want to die alone."

"Noo!!"

"Number one.  Never stop flirting with your wife.  That's what keeps the romance alive."

"Yeah, I see that..."

"Number two.  She always comes first."

"I thought the kids come first."

"Nope.  Happy wife, happy life."

"Is that why we could never play you against each other?"

"Yup.  We're a team."

"Oh, I'd really love to hear number three." Sarah chuckles,  shaking her head at her husband's sudden spurt of wisdom.

"Number three. Don't get married until you find the person you can't live without."

"Awww, honey!" A huge grin forms on Sarah's face as she wraps her arms around his neck.

"See that? What did I tell ya?" Joseph winks at his blonde-haired son before he gently kisses his wife on the lips.

"Haha.  You guys are too much.  I'm gonna go set the plates." Jake beams as he takes the salad into the dining room.  I'd like to have that...someday.

Photobucket

As Sarah adds dried oregano and fresh parsley to the simmering sauce, she thinks about what Joseph just shared with Jake.  It's almost hard to believe that she almost filed for divorce almost ten years ago.  At the time, the boys were teenagers: Luke just turned 16, Nate was 15 and Jake was in the 8th grade at 13.  Joseph's career as a firefighter just started taking off when she moved to a larger firm as the company bookkeeper, which meant larger pay but longer hours.  She knew there would be days when she didn't see her husband at all, but the stress from work just added to her frustration and loneliness.

Dealing with the boys alone, especially in their teenage years, became unbearable for her.  Even though Joseph always made it to every one of their games, she didn't feel like he made the same effort to spend quality time with her.  It was bad enough that she felt second to his career, but she felt second to her sons too.  But she never expressed this to Joseph.  She held everything in as she slowly seethed in disappointment inside.  Over time, she found herself spending more time with her boss, who was separated from his wife at the time.  Lunches turned into dinners, dinners turned into late nights, until she found herself sitting on top of his desk with his hands slowly unbuttoning her blouse.

That was her wake-up call.  She told Joseph what happened. If he didn't make more of an effort in their marriage, she was going to take the boys and file for divorce.

Photobucket

"Where's Luke?" Sarah asks as she savors the crunch of the freshly tossed salad.

"He's in Appaloosa with...a friend." Jake catches himself before revealing Lyn's name.

"A friend? Does this person have a name?" Sensing Jake's apprehension, she's getting the feeling that something's up.

"Yeah, a girl." Jake looks down at his plate, trying to avoid her suspicious gaze.

"Joe, did you know anything about this?" She turns to her significant other, who seems unusually fascinated by the painting on the wall.

"Whaaat? You act like I'm hiding something. Luke knows this girl in Appaloosa. He's just visiting her." He shrugs, knowing how protective she is over her sons.

Photobucket

"Her name is Lyn." Nate volunteers, trying to ease his mother's mind.  The last time he brought a girl home, she did not like her at all.  Sure, her skirt was a little too short, her eyeliner was a little too thick and her high heels were a little too...high.  But that girl was very flexible, especially in his truck.  Those long legs wrapped around his waist so tight, he didn't even have to adjust the front seat.  Her body contorted in ways that defied the laws of physics and human anatomy.  Mmm...Jessica.  That girl sure can fuck.

"He seems to really care about this girl. Luke told me that her boyfriend slept with her sister." Joseph adds, wiping his mouth with fresh linen.

Jake and Nate drop their forks at the same time. They look at each other, then at their dad.

"Dad, are you talking about the same girl? Lyn?" Nate narrows his eyes as if Joseph just pulled that information out of his ass.

"Yeah, that same girl you teased him about last night. Why, what's going on?"

"Oh, man..." Nate pushes his plate away and sits back, lost in thought.

Photobucket

"Boys, what's going on??" Sarah is becoming impatient with the cryptic messages coming from his sons.

"Should we tell them, Nate?" Jake bites his lower lip as he tries to absorb what Joseph just said.

"It's really none of our business..." Nate hesitates.

"Nathan Henry Rossi! Out with it. Now!" Her voice thunders across the dining room with the ability to give both of them the evil eye at the same time.

"Okay, okay. Just don't say anything to Luke. You all know Lyn's boyfriend."  His pale blue eyes finally meet her deadly gaze.  The gaze that can make even a serial killer squirm in fear.

Photobucket

"Who??" Joseph is sitting on the edge of his seat in anticipation.

"It's Brad..." Jake hangs his head in shame for getting involved in Luke's personal life.

"What?? Are you telling me that Luke has a thing for Brad's girlfriend?" His father's head is spinning just thinking about it.

"Well, I assume ex-girlfriend now if she moved to Appaloosa." Nate explains.

"Brad? He's still friends with Brad? First he sleeps with Luke's girlfriend, now this girl's sister? What is wrong with that boy??" Sarah can feel her blood pressure rise just thinking about the guy that her sons grew up with.

"Well, mom, it was his ex's fault too. She slept with Brad."

"But Luke is his best friend. He should know better." She lets out a frustrated sigh.

Photobucket

"Dude, Luke's gonna kill us." Jake murmurs to Nate nervously.

"I know. Remember what he did to Tommy Brandt when he bullied me in 8th grade? That boy was in crutches for a whole month!" Nate lowers his voice, hoping his parents won't hear. If this happened on school grounds, Luke would have been charged with assault and battery, along with being expelled. Luckily, Luke waited until Tommy walked home alone. By an empty alley.

"Who's Tommy Brandt?" Sarah asks as she pierces the salad greens with her fork.

"Oh, nobody mom. Just some kid in middle school. So how's the salad?" Jake quickly changes the subject.

Photobucket

"Joe, I don't know about this. Luke getting involved with Brad's ex...it's not a good situation."

"I know, Sarah. He was devastated when Natalie cheated on him.  He loved that girl."

"I loved her too. She was so sweet and smart.  I really thought she was going to be my daughter-in-law."

Photobucket

"But what can we do? Our boys are all grown up now. They're responsible for their own lives." Letting go has been the hardest thing he's ever had to do as a father.

"I know...it's just...I don't want to see Luke get hurt again. Ughh..I could kill Brad and Natalie. If I ever run into them again, I swear..." Sarah takes a deep breath, trying not to let her anger cloud her judgement.

"The thing is, Luke cares about Brad. Remember what that boy and J.C. went through? Robert used to beat on Rosie when he'd get drunk. Remember when she walked out on him and never came back? I'll never forget that night when they had to watch their own father get handcuffed and shoved inside the police car."

"How could I forget that? The bruises on Brad and J.C.'s back just broke my heart. How can any parent hurt their child like that?"

"I thought my own father was strict but he never hit me. I'm grateful for that." A smile forms on his face as he ponders the idea that things really could be worse.

Photobucket

"Through the years
When everything went wrong
Together we were strong

I know that I belong
Right here with you

Through the years
I never had a doubt
We'd always work things out
I've learned what love's about
By loving you"

"You know what else I'm grateful for?" He takes her hand and kisses it gently.

"What, baby?" She grins, loving the way his moustache tickles her skin.

"You. That day Rosie walked out on her family made me realize how lucky I am. I could be like Robert right now if you decided to leave ten years ago. We'd be lost without you."

"Oh, Joe. I'm lucky too. You and the boys are my life." Even with his receding hairline, he still has the same handsome face that she fell in love with.  Luke is going to look just like him when he gets older.  With her breath caught in her throat, she strokes his cheek lovingly.

Photobucket

"Speaking of lucky..." He wiggles his eyebrows as he holds himself up by his arms, looking down at her.

"Oh, yeah.  You're getting some." She purses her lips as she reaches inside his robe to stroke his length.  He's already getting hard.

"Mmm, I'm gonna spank that ass." He mumbles under his ragged breath.

"Promise?" She giggles as she sucks on his lower lip, making him groan impatiently.  Mmm...married 27 years...and he still gets me hot.

Hahahah... you had me at Kenny Rogers. Awww, this chapter was great -- getting to see the whole family (I mean, minus Luke)! Nate and Jake bickering about the "chilly willy" was hilarious. They might be adults, but they I don't think they're grown up. And I love them for it!

And Jake... aww, how can you not love a boy who loves his momma? And who loves dogs, and wants to find that one person who he can't live without... yup, I think Jake just took the lead as my favorite Rossi boy :D

Oooh, so things between Joe and Sarah weren't always smooth sailing, huh? It seems like they dealt with the trials in their relationship in a lot healthier way than say, Brad. Wonder if Luke, or Nate and Jake for that matter, have any idea how close their parents were to splitting up. I for one and glad for all their sakes that they were able to work things out!

You know, Brad is such an interesting character. He's clearly a shitty friend and a shittier boyfriend, but he does have a pretty tragic past. Even though he's only a minor character in this story, I feel like I know more about him now than I did in Memoirs. Maybe that's part of his problem -- did he ever open up to Lyn about his past? Ack, here I go psychoanalyzing Brad. Let's be clear: I still think he was a dick, but I hope someday he gets his shit sorted out.

Oh, and one final comment: love that Joe and Sarah still get it on after almost 30 years of marriage... but I am still early awaiting Luke and/or Jake's sex scene :D :D

    1. Hahaha I know Daijah doesn't like Kenny Rogers and I'm sure she's not the only one. So I thought I'd warn people so I don't scare them away. xD Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter! I figured with Luke being gone, this would be a chance to focus on the other members of his family so you guys can get to know them better. I agree, Nate and Jake may be adults but they still act like kids sometimes. lol I had no idea how pervy Nate was until this chapter. I knew he was shy but damn, I think he might be pervier than Lyn. xD

YES, Jake is a big momma's boy. Not just because he's the baby but because he spent a lot of time with his mom in the kitchen. That helped them bond, and he learned how to cook as well. But he's been the butt of his brothers' jokes because of that, being a momma's boy. So Jake is your new fave huh? Could it be because he has those boyish looks like Dom? :-)

Sarah was very close to having an affair with her boss. If she was in a weak state of mind at that time, she would have given in to her desires. I think Joe being gone most days of the week was difficult for her, on top of dealing with teenage sons. That was Joseph's wake-up call. Luke knew what was going on, but Nate and Jake didn't. I agree, they were fortunate that their parents found a way to work things out.

Brad, on the other hand, didn't really have a good example. He still has a lot of anger towards his father, as well as resentment towards his mom abandoning him. He does have a history of sabotaging relationships, especially with those that care about him. I agree, I also feel like I know Brad more because of this story, especially the way other people perceive him. It's really interesting to see a character in another context. He has never opened up to Lyn about his past. In fact, he talked about his parents like they were normal people who are still together. Maybe he didn't want to scare her away.

Haha well, after what happened 10 years ago, Joe learned his lesson. He made sure that he satisfied his wife's needs...before someone else does. Look at you, already thinking about Luke and Jake's sex scenes! In due time, grasshoppa! And when is Dom going to turn Sadie out?? xD

      Thanks for reading, Count!

  3. haha nice, got to meet the rest of the family. Love the jaunting and the laughing, the seriousness, and the playfulness between them all. But i think mom is now more worried about lyn being brads x, and her son getting hurt again. I hope she sees the light in one way or another. Ya impatience is my middle name. Wanting to know how brad is going about his life now, i know just feel it in my bones, that he will try something. How Luke is doing with just being a friend first, how lyns handling the new possibilites. well just everything. lol. I loved how the dad and boys watched football, most do generally. lol. The mom prepareing dinner, the dad showing affection to his wife. wow all great stuff. Impatiently waiting for next parts.

    1. I agree, not only is Sarah worried about Luke getting hurt again but the fact that Lyn is Brad's ex, makes her wonder if she's skanky like the girls that he usually dates. I think if they meet Lyn and get to know her, they'll find that she's different. But right now, they're trying to understand why Luke would be interested in Brad's ex.

Haha so you think Brad is going to try something? You never know! It's going to be hard for him to deal with Lyn being gone. I'm worried about how he's going to cope: by being promiscous again or through liquor. And after what just happened with Luke, who will he turn to? I'm going to explore his family dynamics as well, and how his relationship is with his dad.

Sports is a big part of the Rossi life, and that's how the boys bond with their father. It's no surprise that Lyn found Luke doing that same thing in her house. lol

Thanks for reading, Jerry, and I'm glady you enjoyed this chapter!

  4. ~ The Cat is out of the Bag!!!!! I have a feeling that Luke's mom will not like Lyn,because of being associated with Brad,& they all know what type of women that Brad hangs around with!
~ It was good to see the family dynamic & their life together,& how they learned to be the family that they are, even if it nearly all went pear shaped!
~ I do not think Luke will be that mad with his brothers until his father gives him the third degree on this!Seeing as Brads type of women, are no good for his sons!
~ No wonder the Rossi boys want what there parents have! And it looks like they are looking for the one, though Nate still seems to be playing the field!LOL!He has not decided what that is yet!
~ Loved it more when you can!(",)

    1. Haha you know, I didn't even think about that until you guys mentioned it. Sarah's original concern was the fact that Lyn is Brad's ex, that being a conflict of interest, and the fact she doesn't want Luke to get hurt again after what happened with Natalie. But I forgot about Brad's history of dating skanky girls. I don't blame Sarah at all for being concerned that Lyn is going to be skanky too. Nate and Jake haven't met Lyn yet either. They only know of her because Luke talked about her before, but he didn't want his parents to know.

I agree, Luke will probably be able to forgive his brothers for revealing who Lyn is. But if his parents question his interest in Lyn, he will probably become annoyed and wish he never said anything. Yes, after seeing how much their parents love each other, Luke and Jake want the same thing too. But you're right, Nate wants to play the field. And with his pervy side, he's going to be doing a lot of sampling before he thinks about settling down. lol

      Thanks for reading, Karima!

  5. What a great family. It's nice and a little on the ew side to see the parents getting it on LOL.

I can't believe Luke is still friends with Brad. He slept with his girlfriend???? Brad just can't keep it in his pants. UGH!!! How could Brad even think to get mad a Luke at all after what he had done. That's terrible and I didn't think he could piss me off anymore but he did.

    1. Haha I know what you mean, it's a little ew to see anyone's parents get it on. But at the same time, it's endearing to see them still in love and passionate for each other after all these years.

Yes, Brad slept with Luke's ex Natalie. I'm going to find out what motivated Brad to do that, and who seduced who. At the same time, it takes two people to cheat, so it was as much her fault as Brad's. It doesn't make it right but it also says a lot about her character. I agree though, Brad should have been the last person to get upset about Luke and Lyn kissing. He has a lot to learn about taking responsibility for his own actions.

      Thanks for reading, Jaz!

I will never look at Chilly Willy the same way again. lol And I had no idea Nate was such a perv until now! xD That break really helped because I started doing other things besides writing. Then I started missing it, even the characters, and that's when I got the bug again.

Thank you so much for your support, Tom! I'm grateful to have you as a friend. :-)

      Haha wild thang. xD

  8. It's so sweet to see Joe and Sarah still be so in love after all these years! It's easy to see what a good example they set for the boys. I hope they all can find something special like that, especially Luke, after losing one girl to Brad already. That makes things so much...more...added to what he's going thru with Lyn.

It was a fun and insightful glimpse into what makes epople the way they are!

    1. After a close call with their marriage and Sarah almost filing for divorce, they made sure that they learned from that experience. Sarah tried to be more understanding of Joe's career and he tried to put her first. Since then, their marriage has been stronger. Setting a good example is what Joe and Sarah try to instill in their boys. It seems that rubbed off on Luke and Jake, at least in terms of finding "the one". lol Brad's parents, on the other hand, had a more difficult experience, and that really affected Brad.

Knowing what Brad did to Lyn and Luke, both having been hurt by the same person, is something that they both share. They both want to find love but they are also cautious. Hopefully in time they will both be able to forgive as well as move on.

      Thanks for reading, Jilly!

  9. OMG the parents are a trip and it is so funny! Not only are they still in love and show it, they do it in front of the boys! HAHAHAHA! Scarred! He really told her he was going to spank her ass! HA! I swear if I ever heard my mother...LOL I can not stop laughing!

Jake and Nate had me going when they were going back and forth then Dad had to step in and threat to ruin work reputations! HAHAHA!!

I'm glad Joe and Sarah worked it out. There is so much love there that would have been lost between them.

Sarah sounds like she is very protective of her boys so I don't see her staying quiet about Lyn when Luke get's back.

    1. Haha I know, they are shameless. I'm surprised that the boys haven't been traumatized yet. Maybe they are but they are but they're in denial. xD Joe and Sarah's close call with the divorce made them appreciate each other more. Since then, they've been motivated to put each other first, as well as keeping the romance alive. YES girl, he really did tell her he was going to spank that ass! It was kind of ew for me to write, but at the same it's kind of hot to see Joe groping his wife. lol You can tell he's a freak, and Nate definitely took after him. OMG, ew, I don't even want to picture my dad saying that. xD

I know, they are so competitive, especially Nate and Jake. I don't know how Joe and Sarah dealt with them all those years. Nate being the big perv the he is, picks on Jake. But Jake gets him back by sneaking up on him and scaring him. lol Luke usually puts them in check but I think with him being gone, now duking it out. The "littly chilly willy" threat definitely worked. lol

Yes, Sarah is very protective of her boys. The only girl that she liked was Natalie but she ended up cheating on Luke. So now she's even more cautious of who they bring home.

Wow, mom and dad still got it! Nice! Says a lot about the men in the family if they are anything like dad. And we know Luke is! They love deeply!!!!

Really. xD *Sniffs around* Oh, is that what that smell is?? I thought it was...*sniffs around* Sweddy balls. Oh wait...I meant so say Swedish meatballs. Yeah...xD

Hahaha old puppy love! Why do I picture old, wrinkly puppies humping each other? Wait, never mind. :-) Don't worry, you will be seeing some hot fireman make-out sessions in the next few chapters of this story. And perhaps the first HEAT love scene. There's a reason why I chose this title, I hope it will deliver. ;-)

YES, mom and dad still get their freak on, and there's a reason why they're still in love after almost 30 years. They keep it HOT!! Haha yes, Luke definitely picked up his father's ability to love deeply. Jake has the potential too. Nate, on the other hand, is still playing the field. He loves sampling new dishes, if you know what I mean. xD

LOL Kill Brad. That's what Luke said.

  11. "Haha. You guys are too much. I'm gonna go set the plates." Nate beams as he takes the salad into the dining room. I'd like to have that...someday.

^^^ When did Nate come in there? Was that supposed to be Jake?

Luke waited until Tommy walked home alone. By an empty alley.
^^^ Creepy! WTF LOL Crazy ass motherfucker! That's sweet though that he protected his brothers like that! Makes him even more endearing!

I love that Joe and Sarah still have that fire in their relationship! It's wonderful after so long. It's sad that it took her nearly cheating before she said anything to her husband though. I don't get people like that. If you're having a problem in a relationship the FIRST thing you should do is talk to the person about it. If you find time is a problem, leave a note, write down your thoughts...anything! I can't see how the first thing is finding comfort in someone else's arms! I hate that so much.

Jake is hot and cute and LOL @ Chilly Willy though...nvm :) I can understand how they didn't want to give their parents the shit on Luke and they were right it wasn't their place, but just the same it's good everyone knows what's going on. Their family dynamic is awesome in the way they relate to one another and can talk about pretty much anything!

Nate's a whore :) Glad it's him and not Luke.

I loved it! And Sarah's cooking made my stomach growl!

    1. Ooops, I didn't see that typo. lol Thanks for pointing it out, Daijah, I fixed it. OMG, you didn't say anything about Kenny Rogers!! I seriously thought you were going to rag on me, that's why I put that warning. xD *feeling very suspicious*

      "Crazy ass motherfucker!"

Bahahaha!! You would say something like that, wouldn't you? Luke knew that if he did on school grounds, he'd be expelled. He doesn't fight just to fight. He fights to make a statement: mess with my family, and you're dead. Although now the way you say it, with him lurking in an alley, it does sound creepy. lol

YES, Joe and Sarah still have it for each other, and it's a great example for the boys. They are able to see what real love looks like, and what happy couples do to make their marriage work. Hopefully Jake and Nate will follow their parents lead, not settle. Luke is already smitten with Lyn, although she might run into some issues with the mom. I agree though, people should adress their issues early on, when they can be still be resolved. The problem is that not everyone is comfortable with confrontation, not are they prepared to hear the truth. And sometimes, they're in denial until they're in the moment...and they don't realize what they're doing until it's too late. *cough*Brad*cough Or cheating can be their excuse to get out of a relationship. Mature? No. Effective? Yes.

Haha YES, Chilly Willy. Uh huh, you were gonna say something pervy, weren't you? xD Nate and Jake feel awful for telling Luke's business, but I agree, it's good that they know what's going on. At long his parents are respectful and give Lyn a chance, Luke should be able to look past it. Since Joe grew up with a strict father, he made sure that he wasn't that way with his own sons. Sarah is the more serious one, but she still knows when to be open-minded. They wanted to make sure that the boys felt comfortable enough to go to them, about anything.

Haha you think Nate's a whore?? You ain't seen nothing yet. xD

Thanks for reading, D, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

    2. Oh no I saw Kenny...I ignored it. It's Daijahfest so things that don't agree with me get ignored. Nothing can bring me down on my bday. I was even "nice" towards Brad. And by "nice" I mean I didn't go all nerd rage.

      Daijahfest 2012! WOOOOOOO!

    3. LOL so you DID see Kenny!! Muwahahaha!!

Happy Birthday, D!! I like your atittude. Ignore anything that doesn't agree with you. No stress, no drama. By the way, I left a little "present" for you in your birthday thread at RWN.

      Daijahfest should be everyday!! WOOOOO!!

  12. Such a great chapter, Tommie! No wonder Luke is the way he is. I don't know how he could still be friends with Brad! Brad is completely selfish! A bad background is no excuse for the things he's done!

I'm like his mother, I hope that Luke doesn't get hurt.

    1. Thank you Daisies, I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter! Luke's parents have been through a lot but they love each other, and that's what got them through that trying stage 10 years ago. They never wanted to go through that again, so now they work harder at making sure they don't allow problems to escalate.

Luke is still frieds with Brad because he cares about him, he sees him as a brother, and he feels bad about his rough childhood. Yes, Brad is very selfish, and that's why got him in trouble in the first place. He will need to do some serious soul-searching to figure out why he does what he does.

Well, the only person that's in a position to hurt Luke right now is Lyn. He's falling for her.

      Thanks for reading!
